| Once you've installed the 3webXS Basic Dial-up connection software it is necessary to run the connection setup. The connection setup automatically sets up Windows to get you online as well as configures your computer for internet access. This tutorial will walk you through creating a Basic Dial-up connection for the first time.
1. To start the 3web Connection Setup, click the Start button in the bottom left hand side of the screen.
2. Click on the Programs menu (if you are using Windows XP, go to All Programs).
3. Find the 3web folder.
4. Click on 3web Connection Setup.

When the 3web Connection Setup screen appears: 5. Click the radio button next to I would like to sign up for a new Internet account, or switch from 3web dial-up to 3web High Speed.
6. Click the Next button.

7. Click the radio button next to Dial-Up .
8. Click the Next button.

9. If you are not currently subscribed to any other 3web services, click the radio button next to No.
10. Click the Next button.

11. Choose the area from the drop down menu to which you have free local calling.
12. If you require 3web to dial long distance, add the appropriate check mark next to Check here if you are dialing long distance*
Note: by dialing long distance you will be charged by your long distance carrier when connected to 3web.
3web offers free local access numbers in most Canadian metropolitan centres so be sure to carefully check the list before selecting the option to dial long distance.
13. Click the Next button.

14. Carefully read the options on this screen to determine whether any of these situations apply to you. If they do, simply add a check mark next to the corresponding situation. Otherwise leave it blank and continue.
15. Click the Next button.

16. Choose your modem from the drop-down menu. This will be the dial-up modem that 3web will use to make the connection to the 3web Network.
17. Click the Next button.

18. When the 3web Connection Setup has been successfully completed, you will be prompted to click the Next button to connect to the Internet.
You have now completed the setup for the 3webXS Basic Dial-up connection software. When you connect to the internet you will be directed to a secure billing web site that will help you create your account.
